I have to admit that I've been a slacker with reporting on how my goals have been progressing.
It might seem like a silly goal to work on, but I am proud to say that I completed College of Career Development #6. I hadn't had a new hairstyle for a few years and the last time I bought make-up was probably 7 years ago. When I was thinking about what I could do to be more successful when interviewing for jobs, I decided to work on this goal.
In general I try to not put importance on the oustide appearance. In a professional atmosphere though I realized that if I was to get a job in an office, I would be the first person that a client or customer would see when coming to the office. So while I was waiting to hear back about a job (the one I currently have now), I got a new haircut and bought some make up. My haircut was a bit shorter than I wanted, but I like it anyway. And I've been experimenting with make up also. I got a little set that has 8 different colors. I took a picture of my haircut and the make up that I bought, but now my digital camera has been misplaced (I guess my next goal should be the organization ones!).
If you would like to have an online support community while making and keeping goals, this is the right place for you! You can become a well rounded individual and maybe find a new interest also.

How to communicate with you about goals...?
I'm still not quite sure how to communicate my goals to you! Should I email a list? Post a list? or should I just tell you when they have been completed? I have completed a couple. Got side-tracked a bit on some of them but I will get back on track! Thanks again for starting the program!

CoCA #7 Stroganoff
I love cookbooks. I really do, but I spend more time looking at them then I do using them. A couple of months ago, I checked out a cookbook from the library and then I renewed it, and renewed it again. And then checked in and out again and then renewed it two more times. Today, I realized it was overdue and I better look through it and return it for good! Well, I found about 20 recipes I'd like to try, but I actually tried one tonight. Completely happy with it! A great valentine's day meal... and yummy, yummy, yummy! It was simple and I had almost all of the ingredients on hand! {Here's} the link to my take on it! So, obviously that is only 1 of 3 recipes I need to try, but its a start, right?

CoCD -- Soccer Books
Last summer I volunteered to be the treasurer for the local kid's soccer club. The treasurer position doesn't require too much of my time, but I hope to be able to find some ideas to lighten the burden of the other volunteers, some of who spend 100s of hours per season volunteering. Anyway, I have been getting the bank statements since October, but since it's off-season and there isn't much going on, I've let them sit. Last night, I made a 'new' company in my Microsoft Money account and input all the data from 2010 & 2011. I finally felt like I learned the ropes. I basically had a quick annual overview as I entered the data. It was good to get a firmer grasp on a few of the things that I felt were still a little hazy in my brain. So... I'm now feeling like things are better organized and confident that my job will run smoothly! Whew!

Response to Jen's post "CoT#1 w/adjustment"
Thank you so much for your post Jen. My subscription of the Ensign ran out right before we moved and I haven't renewed it yet, so this was a wonderful way for me to remember to check the website to see what articles are available.
When I read the articles you linked to, the one that stood out to me was the one about the woman who was engaged and had feelings of low self-worth. She felt as if she wasn't "lovable" and built a wall around herself to protect herself. When reading that, I was thinking that I could have written that myself. I have built a wall around myself to protect myself from being hurt or rejected....both in romantic situations and general social situations. It gave me hope to read that her feelings went away as she retrained herself to think of herself as being worthy of having someone love her and think her beautiful. This is something that I have lately been working on.
Last month we had a wonderful Relief Society meeting. A woman from the ward told us about this business she has where she gives women make-overs and does a photo shoot for them. She says that while she does that, she helps them work on their self-worth. One thing she makes them do is look in a mirror and say "I am beautiful". She read some quotes from conference talks about self worth and how we compare ourselves to each other too much. We need to love who we are, no matter what shape we are. Then they played a short video from Mormon Messages called "My New Life" about a woman who was in an accident and survived with burns on her body and it gives such a wonderful message. http://www.youtube.com/MormonMessages#p/f/2/KHDvxPjsm8E The whole night was a reminder that WHO we are is not determinded by what we look like. Yes, we need to be healthy and take care of ourselves of course...but Heavenly Father loves us no matter what and we should love ourselves too. When we let go of those feelings of doubt, the Spirit can support us, can strengthen us, and can open us to feel the love of our Father in Heaven.

My Goals
Thanks to Jen for putting her goals on here. It inspired me to sit down and look at my own. There were so many good ones in different topics. I guess I can add some when I start working on the next level and have to add a few goals. Also, sorry that the writing is in gray, I don't know how to change it so it's in white and easier to read.
