Career Development #10 Monthly Menu

For the past week I have been working on this goal.  I have tried to make a menu that I will be able to use much of the food that we already have, which will also save us money.  It's good for me to have a menu to follow so I'm not sitting around at 4 in the afternoon thinking of what I can throw in the oven.  If I follow this menu for the month, then I will also be able to cross off my goal for College of Culinary Arts #13.  This will help me be more organized and effective.

Here is the spreadsheet that I put together to track my menu.  As you can see I also added an additional column to keep track of the items from my menu that I need to buy at the store.

That is great! I love it. Have you checked out the Food Nanny rescues dinner? She recommends this... and has some great idea. But then again you have already done this, so maybe its me who needs to recheck out her book!! First, I have to figure out what I eat...

I love it! Way to go!

Thanks for the encouragement Jen. Not only do I have the month menu, but when I went shopping last week with the meals planned out, I spent......$75 less than usual! So not only am I organized, but I'm not wasting money at the grocery store anymore by randomly buying things!

That is great! Its true being organized saves you time and money... but its hard to start! Good job!

Oh, what are Lentil tacos? Sounds interesting...

You use lentils instead of ground beef. You make them in the crockpot. I haven't tried it yet, but I think it might be a good meat substitute. I'm trying to find more meals like that. If it's good, I'll post the recipe to Tastebuds.

You are funny Jen. Okay, I'll send you the recipe. I don't want to post it to the blog yet until I can review it (or you can do it!!).
